Idea validations – three effective ways to check your idea

Validation of an idea is a crucial action which you should do before you will start creating your own SaaS product. Or any product. If you have an idea, go and validate it. How to do that? I will show you today a few way to validate your ideas.
Before you start
Before you start validating your ideas, you have to do one thing. You have to find out who your client is. It’s crucial. You have to know who will buy your product or service. If you miss this part, your chances will decrease extremely fast.
So just get your idea and try to answer this questions:
- Who will pay for this?
- Who is that person? (the paying one)
- Where he/she lives?
- How old is he/she?
- Where does he/she work?
- How much he/she earns?
- Where can you find it? (In the Internet)
- What will lead him/her to buy?
You don’t have to know the answers to all of these questions. But the more you will answer, the easiest game will be.
Start validating!
Idea validation is not so hard like some peoples think. If you know what you are doing, it’s pretty easy. The more you validate, the easiest this game will be. I will give you three more efficient ways to check is your idea has any market.
Sell it!
The surest method of validation is selling your product. Prepare a simple landing page and tell your customer that the product is in production. It does not have to be true, but you have to give a date where this product will be available to the client. Next add some payment method to your landing page. Finally provide some traffic to your landing. And you will see what will happen. If there will be some interest you will have money to start your idea. If there will be none then you will start looking for a new idea.
Croudfunding
It’s similar to selling, but there are a few differences. If you want to have a successful campaign on Kickstarter or other crowdfunding places, you have to prepare many details about your idea. You have to prepare a full plan for the whole product. After the campaign will start you have to promote it everywhere. Kickstarter will provide you some traffic, but it won’t be enough. You have to bring your community to this. If you don’t have any community, it can be hard to gather bigger funds.
Mailing list
Last but not least is a mailing list. It’s easier version of first way. Some people can feel uncomfortable trying to sell product which does not exist. If you are that person I have good news to you. You don’t have to sell it yet. You can start from collecting emails from interested peoples. Just prepare a landing page where you explain your idea. Put there a form to sign to your mailing list. Of you will get some emails on this list it will be probably a sign that your idea is worth to implement.
Idea validations – summary
And that’s all. I shared with you the three most efficient ways (in my opinion) to check your idea before you will put time and effort into building it. It will save you a lot of money. If you are new in business stuff, try to get as much information as possible from each validation.
